Hey! My Name is Miriam Lopez…

I’m a passionate recent graduate communication design student at Chico State with a minor in marketing. Originally from the vibrant San Diego County, my move to Chico in 2019 opened new doors for me both academically and creatively. Growing up in a community close to the Mexican border deeply influenced my identity and perspective, fostering a profound connection to my Hispanic heritage. This cultural richness has become a cornerstone of my artistic expression, infusing my work with a unique blend of tradition and innovation.

I would characterize my artistic style as whimsical and vibrant artwork, often featuring cartoon-like characters and lively colors. Drawing from my Hispanic heritage and love for Disney, my designs are charming and tell stories. I blend traditional elements with modern style to evoke joy and nostalgia. I'd like to think, my art reflects creativity, emotion, and cultural inspiration.

Outside of the design world, I find joy in keeping a bullet journal and engaging in various craft activities. These moments of creative exploration not only provide relaxation but also fuel my imagination, inspiring fresh ideas for my artwork.

My journey as a student and artist has been shaped by my heritage, experiences, and unwavering determination. I look forward to the opportunities ahead and the chance to share my passion with the world.
