Packaging Redesign
Sketches and Ideas Dump
I realized from the original package that there were several crucial text pieces to include, such as the features (3PC, For ages 3+, brand name, etc.). I also knew I wanted to incorporate a character into the new design packaging, which led to the creation of Benny the Bear blowing bubbles.
The Bubbles Redesign
Here are the revised front and back designs (left and right, accordingly). I approached this redesign with children in mind. Because these bubbles' primary target audience is children, I wanted my new design to entice children to purchase the bubbles. The original packaging did not do an adequate job of appearing attractive and approachable, but I believe mine does.
Final Redesign Prototype
Problem:
Many existing packaging designs on the market fail to effectively communicate product information, brand identity, and visual appeal to consumers. This results in a subpar user experience and missed opportunities for brand engagement and sales conversion. For instance, the packaging of Dollar Tree bubbles may feature excessive text, resembling pharmaceutical packaging rather than conveying the fun and outdoor nature of the product intended for children.
Solution:
For my redesign, I focused on enhancing the Dollar Tree bubbles packaging to better convey its intended message. I chose to incorporate bright and fun colors, inspired by the aesthetic of stores like Toys "R" Us, to evoke excitement and playfulness. Additionally, I introduced a character, Benny the Bear, blowing bubbles on the side of the packaging to add charm and appeal to children. To revamp the brand logo, I replaced the original kite with a bright yellow sun, symbolizing outdoor fun and playfulness.
